History
This  stud  was  founded  in  1987  and  registered  in  March  2010,  by  Johan  Greeff  &  John  Karlsson  from  the  Dept  of  Agriculture  &  Food  WA,  by  the  inspection  and  approval  for  registration  of  500  poll  ewes,  220  poll  ewe  lambs,  25  poll  rams  &  220  poll  ram  lambs.  The  Rylington  merino  flock,  based  on  donations  of  ewes  from  95  merino  sheep  breeders  and  15  rams  obtained  from  CSIRO  &  University  of  New  England  (NSW)  research  flocks,  was  established  for  research  purposes  to  carry  out  genetic  studies  on  the  inheritance  of  worm  resistance  in  a  Mediterranean  environment.  In  2000,  the  flock  was  moved  from  Rylington  Park  Farm,  Boyup  Brook,  to  Mt  Barker  Research  Station,  Mt  Barker.  This  stud  was  resigned  in  December  2020.
