This  stud  was  founded  in  October  1979,  by  NT  and  PM  Pengilly  by  the  purchase  of  1  ram  and  12  ewes  from  ASHROSE  Poll  FN191,  and  90  ewes  from  ASHROSE  FN104.  On  1  July  1983  the  sons,  Allan  David  and  Robert  Bruce  Pengilly,  were  taken  into  the  partnership.  In  2010,  Bruce  and  Trudy  Pengilly  became  the  stud  principals  and  changed  the  trading  name  to  Penrose  Pastoral.
