This  stud  was  founded  in  1940  by  TH  Price  and  his  sons,  JD  and  TK  Price,  by  the  purchase  of  68  ewes  from  MUNTHOOLA  FN165,  together  with  1  ram  from  CENTRAL  BUNGAREE  FN103,  and  1  ram  from  BOCONNOC  PARK  AND  MANNANERIE  FN107.  On  the  death  of  TH  Price  in  1950  the  property  and  sheep  were  divided  between  the  sons  JD  and  TK  Price,  and  the  name  of  the  stud  was  changed  from  KIORA  to  KIA-ORA.  In  1956  TK  Price  took  Mrs  RC  Price  (wife)  and  TG  Price  (son)  into  partnership  and  formed  a  company  trading  as  TK  Price  and  Co.  On  the  death  of  TK  Price  in  1985  the  stud  is  now  operated  by  TG  Price,  VL  Price  (wife)  and  TR  Price  (son),  still  trading  as  TK  Price  and  Co.  Resigned  as  at  December  2000.
