This  stud  was  founded  in  1926  by  CO  Fairbairn  by  the  purchase  of  5  rams  and  300  ewes  from  COONONG  NO.1  FN25.  In  1959  following  the  death  of  CO  Fairbairn  the  stud  was  carried  on  by  his  Estate.  The  Estate  was  wound  up  in  December  1975,  following  which  the  stud  was  purchased  by  DA  &  EA  Sawers,  the  latter  being  the  grand  daughter  of  the  late  CO  Fairbairn.  The  stud  was  moved  from  Skipton,  Vic,  to  Derrinallum,  Vic.  In  1977  the  stud  name  was  changed  from  BANONGILL  to  BANABAN.  In  1980  the  stud  was  moved  to  Keith,  SA,  and  the  name  changed  to  HYFIELD.  In  1984,  DA  Sawers  purchased  the  shareholding  from  Hyfield  Pty  Ltd  &  EA  Sawers.  In  1986  the  stud  was  transferred  to  Coleambally,  NSW.  In  October  1989,  the  stud  was  purchased  by  Mr  RD  Lester  of  Dakin  Nominees  Pty  Ltd  and  relocated  to  Kojonup,  WA.  Also  in  October  1989,  Dakin  Nominees  Pty  Ltd  purchased  the  whole  of  the  NGOPITCHUP  FN3853.  HYFIELD  &  NGOPITCHUP,  have  been  consolidated  with  the  DEEPDALE  FN3939  stock,  previously  purchased  by  Dakin  Nominees  Pty  Ltd.  All  three  studs  are  infused  with  WONGA,  POOGINOOK,  LOWANNA  and  WESTRAY  bloodlines.  In  2001,  the  owner's  trading  name  changed  to  Dakin  Farms  Pty  Ltd.  Resigned  July  2009.
