This  stud  was  founded  in  1951,  by  JD  Price  who  had  been  in  partnership  with  his  father,  TH  Price  and  brother,  TK  Price  in  the  KIA-ORA,  FN942.  On  the  death  of  RH  Price  in  1950  both  the  KIA-ORA  property  and  sheep  were  divided  between  TK  Price  and  JD  Price,  the  latter's  portion  of  the  sheep  consisting  of  50  rams,  158  ewes,  50  ram  lambs  and  50  ewe  lambs.  In  1957  JD  Price  took  his  wife  Mrs  AM  Price  and  his  son  KJ  Price,  into  partnership  trading  as  J  &  A  Price  and  Son.  In  1963,  JD  Price's  son,  JR  Price  was  taken  into  partnership.  In  1969  the  wives  of  KJ  &  JR  Price  were  taken  into  partnership,  trading  as  JD  Price  &  Sons.  Resigned  February  2008.
