This  stud  was  founded  in  1940  by  EJ  Edmonds  and  Sons  by  the  purchase  of  44  ewes  from  GRASS  VALLEY  FN274,  which  were  mated  with  a  ram  purchased  in  1939  from  HASELEY  FN160.  The  partnership  of  BJ  Edmonds  &  Sons  was  dissolved  in  1960,  and  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  BJ  Edmonds  Jnr.  forming  a  partnership  with  Mrs  LE  Edmonds.  In  1995  8  rams  &  1400  stud  ewes  were  transferred  to  GLEN  BYRNE  from  the  dissolved  GLENARIN  FN2984,  also  owned  by  BJ  &  LE  Edmonds.  In  1999  the  ownership  of  the  stud  was  transferred  to  B.G.  Edmonds.  In  2005,  GLEN  BYRNE  purchased  BADGIBAH  FN  4787  in  its  entirety,  and  2  rams,  311  ewes  and  76  ewe  lambs  were  incorporated  into  GLEN  BYRNE.  In  July  2013,  GLEN  BYRNE,  F.  No.  1379,  consisting  of  10  rams,  100  ram  lambs,  450  ewes  and  200  ewe  lambs  was  transferred  to  MANNALEA,  F.  No.  2964  and  was  then  resigned  from  the  Flock  Register.
