This  stud  was  founded  in  1923  by  the  Chilimony  Estate  when  E  Lee-Steere  transferred  191  BUNGAREE  FN110,  bred  ewes  from  Hawthornden,  Toodyay,  to  Chilimony.  In  1951  the  stud  name  was  changed  from  CHILIMONY  to  CHILIMONY-BOWES.  In  1964  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  a  company  which  trading  as  Chilimony-Bowes  Stud.  In  1972  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  a  company  trading  as  Digby  Lee-Steere  Pty  Ltd.  As  of  1  January  1987,  CHILIMONY-BOWES  No.  2  FN3261,  was  joined  with  FN706,  to  make  one  stud.  Resigned  as  at  December  2000.
