This  stud  was  founded  in  1948  by  BED  Blechynden  by  the  purchase  of  1  ram  and  40  ewes  from  HASELEY  FN160.  On  1  April,  1958,  BED  Blechynden  took  his  sons,  NE  &  DL  Blechynden  into  partnership.  On  1  July  1972  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  a  partnership  comprising  BED  Blechynden  and  his  son,  CF  Blechynden.  In  1994  Burnside  Stud  was  taken  over  by  Blechynden  Nominees  A/T/F  the  Burnside  Trust  T/A  B.E.D.  Blenchynden  &  Son  comprising  Cyril,  Christine,  and  son  Mark.  From  1988-1998,  Paul,  second  son  of  Cyril  and  Christine  was  in  the  partnership.  Vance,  youngest  son  of  Cyril  and  Chris,  was  taken  into  the  partnership  in  2000.  Resigned  October  2009.
