The  BARRAMINING  stud  was  founded  in  1910  by  HJW  Higham,  father  of  NN,  W  &  J  Higham,  who  controlled  the  venture  from  1912  to  1st  July  1931,  when  J  Higham's  share  was  taken  over  by  HN  and  W  Higham.  The  original  ewes  were  purchased  from  Sir  Samuel  Way,  KADLUNGA  (FN324).  As  from  1st  November  1932,  the  stud  was  divided  between  the  two  brothers,  HN  Higham  retained  his  portion  consisting  of  115  rams,  1020  ewes  and  638  lambs  at  Barramining.  In  1946,  HN  Higham  took  his  two  sons  HN  (junior)  and  MM  as  partners.  In  1963,  MM  Higham  in  partnership  with  his  wife  RS  Higham,  took  over  the  horned  stud  renaming  it  BAROOGA,  while  HN  Higham  (junior)  took  over  the  poll  stud  and  retained  the  name  BARRAMINING.  In  1973,  MM  &  RS  Higham  took  their  son,  RW  Higham  into  partnership.  In  1978,  AM  Higham  was  included  in  the  partnership  and  in  1981  the  youngest  son,  TN  Higham,  was  bought  into  the  partnership.  The  partnership  of  MM  &  RS  Higham  was  dissolved  in  1990  and  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  AM  &  SG  Higham.  In  2012,  ownership  of  the  stud  changed  to  Andrew  &  Anthony  Higham  trading  as  Barooga  Stud.
