This  stud  was  founded  in  October,  1957,  by  G.W.  Lines  by  the  purchase  of  20  ewes  from  GUM  HILL,  SA,  F.  No.  671,  and  2  rams  from  RIVERVIEW,  SA,  Poll  F.  No.  109.  In  1978,  the  trading  name  was  changed  to  G.W.  and  J.M.  Lines  and  Son.  In  1981,  the  owners  name  reverted  back  to  G.W.  and  J.M.  Lines.  In  1984,  the  trading  name  was  changed  to  Lines  &  Hawthorne  when  G.W.  and  J.M.  Lines  admitted  their  daughter  and  son-in-law  into  the  partnership.  Resigned  July  2001.
