This  stud  was  founded  in  1895  by  John  Collins  by  the  purchase  of  a  draft  of  ewes  from  KOONOONA,  SA,  F.  No.120.  From  1895  to  1907,  COLLINSVILLE,  F.  No.  318,  and  KOONOONA,  F.  No.  120,  rams  were  the  only  ones  used  in  the  stud.  Since  1915,  the  paramount  blood  has  been  from  HADDON  RIG,  F.  No.  48,  and  BUNDEMAR,  F.  No.  11  rams.  In  1934,  the  entire  LAMARA,  F.  No.  326,  stud  was  purchased.  In  1985  the  stud  ownership  changed  from  the  Collins  family  to  Neil  Garnett  and  in  1995  was  taken  over  by  the  Handbury  Group.  In  November  2014  the  stud  was  purchased  by  George  Millington,  trading  as  Collinsville  Stud  Merinos  Pty.  Ltd.
