This  stud  was  founded  in  1914  by  K.P.  Sawers  by  the  transfer  of  100  ewes  from  CANOWIE,  F.  No.  338.  These  ewes  were  mated  with  a  sport  poll  ram  bred  in  the  same  stud.  CANOWIE,  F.  No.  338,  was  founded  in  1897  by  T.  Goode  by  a  selection  of  ewes  and  rams  from  CANOWIE,  F.  No.  111,  which  stud  was  founded  in  1839  by  Drs.  J.H.  and  W.J.  Brown  on  a  selection  of  merino  ewes  with  imported  NEGRETTE  rams,  later  replaced  with  5  imported  RAMBOUILLET  rams.  The  stud  was  carried  on  by  T.  Goode  until  1908  when  it  was  purchased  by  Mrs  R.M.  Sawers.  From  that  time,  the  stud  was  under  the  management  of  K.P.  Sawers  who  purchased  it  in  1913.  In  1925,  it  was  transferred  to  the  homestead  portion  of  the  Canowie  Pastoral  Co  Ltd  (see  F.  No.  111)  property  which  had  been  acquired  by  K.P.  Sawers  together  with  2  rams  and  386  ewes  purchased  at  the  dispersal  sale  of  the  property,  thus  combining  the  Two  orignal  Canowie  blood  studs.  On  the  disposal  of  the  property  in  1939,  the  stud  was  transferred  to  properties  situated  at  Orraparinna,  Hawker,  SA,  and  Wilkatana,  Port  Augusta,  SA,  the  former  property  being  sold  in  1946.  The  stud  was  transferred  to  Kulpara,  SA,  and  in  the  same  year  a  family  company  was  formed  trading  as  K.  Sawer  Pty  Ltd,  which  continued  the  stud.  A  property  at  Catana,  Coonalpyn,  SA,  was  purchased  in  1950  and  portion  of  the  stud  was  transferred  there  until  the  sale  of  the  Kulpara  property  in  1974  when  all  the  stud  moved  to  Coonalpyn.  Following  the  death  of  K.P.  Sawers  in  2000,  stud  was  taken  over  by  his  son,  Dr.  K.  Sawers.  In  November  2021  this  stud  was  purchased  by  C.C.  Cooper  &  Co.  with  38  rams,  280  ram  lambs,  2407  ewes  and  1031  ewe  lambs  being  the  entire  stud  flock.
