This  stud  was  founded  in  November  1957  by  W.B.  Ashby  and  Sons  Ltd  by  the  transfer  of  105  ewes  from  ASHROSE,  F.  No.  104  (Founded  in  1910)  These  ewes  were  mated  with  a  ram  leased  from  COLLINSVILLE,  SA,  Poll  F.  No.  105.  On  31st  March,  1979,  the  partnership  was  divided.  The  remaining  members  of  the  partnership,  which  continued  to  trade  as  formerly,  retained  half  the  sheep  in  the  stud.  In  April  1996,  the  partnership  was  re-organised,  Brian  Ashby  and  sons,  Simon  and  Charles,  continuing  to  trade  as  formerly  with  their  half  of  the  sheep  in  the  stud.  In  September  2007  the  Ashrose  Poll  stud,  consisting  of  41  rams,  1233  ewes,  322  ram  lambs,  373  ewe  lambs  &  3000  semen  doses,  was  sold  to  Glenstrae  Pastoral  Company.  In  March  2013,  the  stud  was  purchased  by  The  Graetz  Family  Trust,  also  owners  of  NORTH  RHINE,  Poll  F.  No.  887  which  was  later  resigned.  In  April  2013,  Ashrose  Merino  Stud  F.  No.  104  was  resigned.  In  November  2021  the  entire  Ashrose  Poll  Merino  stud  F.  No.  191,  consisting  of  7  rams,  830  ewes,  270  ram  lambs  and  333  ewe  lambs  was  sold  to  the  MC  Ashby  Family  Trust.
