The  original  ANLABY  flock  was  founded  by  F.H.  Dutton  in  1839  with  5000  ewes  made  up  of  4000  from  Mr.  Howe,  Yass,  NSW,  and  1000  from  Mr.  Stuckie  of  the  same  district.  RAMBOUILLET  rams  from  Europe  were  introduced,  later  from  MOUNT  CRAWFORD  and  CAPPEEDEE.  Ewes  were  purchased  from  MOUNT  CRAWFORD,  LUCERNEDALE,  COLLINSVILLE  and  EAST  BUNGAREE-BELCUNDA.  The  flock  was  acquired  by  H.H.  Dutton  in  1908  by  inheritance.  In  1932,  the  stud  was  transferred  from  H.H.  Dutton  to  Mrs.  E.  Dutton  with  1132  ewes.  In  1960,  the  Anlaby  Pastoral  Co  was  formed  and  took  over  the  stud.  The  stud  and  property  were  acquired  by  F.M.  and  D.W.  Mosey  in  1968.  In  1997  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  Anlaby  Pastoral  Co.  In  2004  this  partnership  dissolved  and  the  flock  transferred  to  D.W.  &  J.C.  Mosey.  In  early  2009  Andrew  Morphett,  trading  as  A.D.  Morphett,  took  over  the  ownership  of  the  stud.
