This  stud  was  founded  in  1857  when  Thomas  Shaw  purchased  400  ewes  from  T.S.  Learmouth,  ERCILDOUNE,  Kyneton,  Vic.  At  the  same  time  100  ewes  were  selected  from  the  WOORIWYRITE  general  flock  which  was  of  Tasmanian  and  Camden  Park  blood  (see  Reference  Flock).  Later,  a  further  1,000  ewes  from  ERCILDOUNE  were  added  to  the  stud  and  subsequently  80  ewes  were  purchased  from  MONA  VALE,  Tas.  Since  1923,  rams  purchased  from  BARUNAH  PLAINS,  F.  No.  1703,  have  been  used  from  time  to  time.  Since  1980,  TREFUSIS,  F.  No.  Tas.  13,  rams  have  been  used.  In  June  1977,  the  stud  was  purchased  by  James  Robert  Morrison.  Following  the  death  of  Mr  J.R.  Morrison,  the  stud  was  discontinued.  Resigned  August  2010.
