This  stud  was  founded  in  1965  by  M.  Southwell  by  the  purchase  of  50  ewes  from  WOODGROVE,  F.  No.  1040.  At  the  same  time,  Mr  Southwell  selected  20  ewes  from  his  flock.  The  latter  stud  was  formed  in  1947  when  3  rams  and  200  ewes  were  acquired  from  his  uncle,  E.C.  Southwell.  The  latter's  flock  was  founded  on  RAVENSWORTH,  F.  No.  594,  blood  nearly  40  years  previously.  Rams  were  purchased  from  MERRYVILLE,  F.  No.  56,  RAVENSWORTH,  F.  No.  594,  FONTHILL,  F.  No.  398,  and  SPRINGFIELD,  F.  No.  73.  After  taking  over  the  sheep  from  his  uncle,  M.  Southwell  continued  using  rams  from  SPRINGFIELD  and  MERRYVILLE  until  1962,  when  a  ram  was  obtained  from  EGELABRA,  NSW,  F.  No.  32.  A  further  ram  was  purchased  from  this  stud  in  1965.  As  from  1st  January  1983,  P.J.  Southwell  was  taken  into  the  partnership.  In  1987,  Mr.  M.  Southwell  retired.  Resigned  March  2015.
