This  stud  was  founded  in  1918  under  the  name  Craigielea  by  the  late  George  Grieve  by  the  purchase  of  ewes  of  MUMBLEBONE,  F.  No.  63,  blood  from  the  Roma  Downs  flock,  and  1  ram  of  UARDRY,  F.  No.  79,  and  HADDON  RIG,  F.  No.  48,  blood  from  the  Eurella  flock  at  Muckadilla,  Qld.  Early  records  of  the  flock  are  not  available.  However,  a  ram  was  purchased  from  Zerkstuds,  Muckadilla,  Qld  in  1925,  and  1  from  DUNSTAN,  F.  No.  592,  in  1933  from  H.E.  Ferrier  (see  ST.  WOMALS,  F.  No.  2496).  Subsequently,  ewes  were  purchased  from  HADDON  RIG,  F.  No.  48,  and  only  rams  from  the  latter  stud  have  been  purchased  since  that  time.  Following  the  death  of  George  Grieve  in  1924,  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  his  son,  Donald  Grieve.  The  latter  died  in  1975  after  having  changed  the  name  of  the  stud  to  Summerhope.  In  1978,  the  stud  was  purchased  by  C.A.  and  M.M.  Harris.  In  1987,  the  name  of  the  stud  was  changed  from  SUMMERHOPE  to  WOODBINE.  Resigned  December  2003.
