This  stud  was  founded  in  the  early  1860s  by  the  Hon.  William  Campbell  by  the  purchase  of  ewes  from  CANOWIE,  SA,  F.  No.  111,  and  rams  from  the  CAMDEN  PARK  flock  (see  Reference  Flock).  John  Lamb  purchased  the  WILLURAH  property,  together  with  some  3000  ewes  and  1200  rams  on  11th  April  1876.  He  subsequently  formed  the  firm  of  John  Lamb  &  Co.  Ltd.  which  took  over  the  stud  and  property  on  29th  May  1915.  This  company  carried  on  the  stud  after  the  death  of  John  Lamb  on  27th  October  1922,  and  was  taken  over  by  John  Lamb  Pastoral  Co  Pty  Ltd  on  9th  November  1931.
