This  stud  is  part  of  the  original  RAVENSWORTH,  NSW,  F.  No.  594,  stud  which  was  established  by  G.  Merriman  on  Mudgee  and  Tasmanian  blood  and  was  conducted  by  him  and  his  three  sons  for  a  period  of  50  years.  The  stud  was  then,  at  his  request,  divided  into  three  parts  and  G.W.  Merriman's  share  was  removed  to  VALE  VIEW  (a  part  of  RAVENSWORTH)  and  added  to  his  VALE  VIEW  stud  already  established  on  RAVENSWORTH,  F.No.  594,  blood.  In  May  1956,  a  company  was  formed  trading  as  Vale  View  Pty  Ltd  with  the  shareholders  being  J.L.,  D.M.  and  F.L.  Hodgkinson  and  Mrs  Lilian  Hodgkinson.  This  company  leased  all  the  sheep  from  the  old  company.  In  1962,  all  the  sheep  on  lease  from  J.L.  and  L.  Hodgkinson  were  classed  out  and  sold.  The  entire  flock  has  been  transferred  to  an  entity  trading  as  Vale  View  Partnership.  Effective  ownership  remains  unchanged.  Resigned  September  2005.
