This  stud  was  founded  in  1890  by  W.H.  Treweeke  by  the  selection  of  about  150  ewes  -  the  tops  of  the  General  flock  -  which  were  mated  with  2  Tasmanian  rams  for  several  years.  A  special  stud  was  formed  in  1896  with  ewes  imported  from  Tasmania  and  Tasmanian  ewes  from  EAST  TALGAI,  F.  No.  96,  the  sires  mated  with  these  being  2  rams  bred  by  G.A.  Jones  and  a  ram  bred  at  EAST  TALGAI,  F.  No.  96.  About  the  same  time  the  stud  was  increased  by  200  selected  from  2000  COLLAROY  (see  reference  flock)  ewes  bought  from  J.R.  Smith,  Tucka  Tucka,  Yetman,  NSW.  The  drought  of  1902  decimated  the  flock  -  only  500  stud  ewes  and  480  General  flock  ewes  surviving.  These  ewes  were  classed  on  their  merits  and  the  pure  Tasmanian  blended  with  the  ewes  of  the  original  stud  with  an  infusion  of  COLLAROY  (see  reference  flocks)  blood.  About  500  of  these  formed  the  nucleus  of  the  present  stud.  In  1960,  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  Mrs  D.A.Treweeke,  and  in  1989  by  Mr.  A.S.  McColl.  In  1997,  after  the  death  of  Mr.  A.S.  McColl,  the  ownership  changed  to  D.R.S.  &  I.R.  McColl.  In  July  2005,  the  entire  MOORAMANNA,  F.  No.  3711  stud  was  purchased.  Resigned  August  2010.
