The  records  of  this  stud  date  back  to  1888.  TRAWALLA  was  originally  taken  up  by  J.  Simson.  He  sold  the  property  and  stud  to  J.  Wilson  who  left  the  property  to  his  daughter,  who  married  Admiral  W.B.  Bridges.  H.P.  Mackenzie  bought  five  lines  of  ewes  and  the  rams,  also  the  two-tooth  rams,  58  in  number,  the  two-tooth  ewes,  and  all  ram  lambs  in  December  1920  at  the  dispersal  sale  of  the  flock  occasioned  by  the  compulsory  acquisition  of  the  property  by  the  Government.  Following  the  winding  up  of  the  estate  of  H.P.  Mackenzie,  a  family  partnership  comprising  the  late  H.P.  Mackenzie's  two  sons,  A.J.  &  K.W.  Mackenzie,  and  Mrs.  A.J.  Mackenzie,  was  formed  trading  as  Trawalla  Pastoral  Co.  Resigned  December  2006.
