This  stud  was  founded  in  1953  by  the  Australian  Estates  Company  Ltd  by  the  transfer  of  5  rams,  350  ewes  and  110  lambs  from  TERRICK  TERRICK,  F.  No.  440.  2  rams  purchased  in  June  1953  from  EDITHVILLE,  NSW,  Poll  F.  No.  2,  were  added  to  the  stud.  The  Australian  Estates  Company  Ltd  had  originally  founded  a  poll  stud  in  1941  when  a  poll  ram  was  mated  with  20  ewes  selected  from  TERRICK  TERRICK,  F.  No.  440.  This  flock  had  been  maintained  within  the  latter  stud.  In  1975,  the  Australian  Estates  Company  Ltd  was  taken  over  by  C.S.R.  Pastoral  Division.  In  1979,  the  stud  name  was  changed  from  TERRICK  TERRICK  to  GOWAN.  In  July  1985,  the  stud  was  purchased  by  N.M.  Rural  Enterprises  Pty  Ltd.  In  1990,  the  stud  name  was  changed  back  to  TERRICK  TERRICK.  Resigned  4/10/02.
