This  stud  was  founded  at  Narrandera,  NSW,  in  1920  by  D.B.  Milthorpe  by  the  purchase  of  420  ewes,  3  BURRAWANG  (see  F.  No.  362)  and  2  DENILIQUIN  STUD  PARK  NORTH,  F.  No.  195,  rams  from  Mrs  M.  Milthorpe,  at  which  date  D.B.  Milthorpe  purchased  the  whole  of  the  Somerset  stud  sheep  and  entered  into  possession  of  the  property.  In  July  1958,  D.B.  Milthorpe  took  his  son,  D.J.  Milthorpe,  into  partnership.  D.B.  Milthorpe  withdrew  from  the  partnership  on  1st  July  1960,  the  stud  being  continued  by  his  son  under  the  name  of  D.B.  Milthorpe  and  Son.  In  1963,  D.J.  Milthorpe  took  his  wife  into  partnership.  On  1st  July  2004,  David  Joseph  &  Olive  Dorothy  Milthorpe  took  their  son,  John  David  Milthorpe  into  the  partnership  and  continue  to  trade  under  the  name  D.B.  Milthorpe  &  Son.  This  stud  was  resigned  in  December  2018.
