This  stud  was  founded  at  'Clare  Park',  Grenfell,  NSW,  in  January  1908,  by  P.V.  Carter  and  was  moved  to  'Rangari',  Gunnedah,  NSW,  in  November  1925.  It  originally  consisted  of  30  ewes  and  1  ram  presented  to  P.V.  Carter  by  H.  Carter  of  'Boconnoc  Park',  Clare,  SA.  The  'Boconnoc'  stud  was  bred  from  BUNGAREE,  F.  No.  110,  ewes  and  a  `Hill  River',  Clare,  SA,  ram  as  a  base.  In  1902,  a  ram  was  purchased  from  WANGANELLA,  F.  No.  83,  from  which  `Boconnoc'  had  service  with  satisfactory  results.  'Clare  Park'  stud  grew  slowly  by  selection  until  about  1920  when  a  valuable  ram  and  some  aged  stud  ewes  and  a  further  lot  of  ewes  were  purchased  from  BUNDEMAR,  F.  No.  11,  and  BUNDEMAR  (GENERAL),  F.  No.  12.  In  1933,  P.V.  Carter  admitted  his  two  sons  into  partnership  under  the  title  of  P.V.  Carter  and  Sons.  In  1937,  P.V.  Carter  and  Sons  formed  a  proprietary  company  which  took  over  the  ownership  of  the  stud.  Resigned  27/6/2000.
