This  stud  was  founded  by  N.A.  Gatenby  &  Co.  in  1898  when  900  ewes  were  purchased  from  WANGANELLA  ESTATE,  NSW,  F.  No.  84.  Six  hundred  of  the  tops  of  these  ewes  were  used  to  start  the  stud  and  were  joined  with  6  rams  also  purchased  from  WANGANELLA  ESTATE,  F.  No.  84.  In  1927,  N.A.  Gatenby  &  Co.  formed  the  New  South  Wales  Pastoral  Co.  Ltd,  the  stud  being  continued  under  that  name.  In  December  2010,  the  stud  was  purchased  by  Hassad  Australia  Operations  Co  trading  as  Hassad  Australia.
In  December  2017  the  stud  was  purchased  by  David  K,  Karen  A  and  Stuart  McBurnie  Trading  as  KD  &  KA  McBurnie  &  Sons,  ABN  66032504163,  "Weella"  1504  Milpulling  Road,  Balladoran,  NSW  2822.  The  change  of  ownership  was  approved  in  April  2018  with  the  purchase  100%  of  the  stud  remaining  consisting  of  16  Rams  and  441  ewes,  186  ram  lambs  and  115  ewe  lambs.
