This  stud  was  founded  as  Forbes  Pine  Hill  in  1955  by  C.W.  Ridley  and  his  sons,  W.L.  and  J.C.  Ridley,  by  the  selection  of  415  ewes  from  5500  in  the  PINE  HILL  flock.  6  rams  were  purchased  in  the  same  year  from  EGELABRA,  NSW,  F.  No.  32.  The  PINE  HILL  flock  was  commenced  in  1935  by  W.L.  and  J.C.  Ridley  by  the  purchase  of  370  ewes  with  lambs  at  foot  from  the  estate  of  J.H.  McCormack,  Moora  Moora,  Forbes,  NSW,  and  462  GREENBANK  bred  ewes  from  J.  Hoskins,  Wirrinya,  NSW.  All  these  ewes  were  EGELABRA,  F.  No.  32,  blood.  Only  EGELABRA,  F.  No.  32,  rams  were  used  in  the  flock.  In  1941,  W.L.  and  J.C.  Ridley  took  their  father,  C.W.  Ridley,  into  partnership.  In  1962,  the  stud  was  sold  to  W.L.  and  J.C.  Ridley  but  continued  to  trade  under  the  name  of  C.W.  Ridley  &  Sons.  In  June  1973,  the  partnership  was  dissolved  and  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  J.C.  Ridley  and  Co.  In  1978,  the  stud  name  was  changed  to  Pine  Hill.  Since  the  death  of  J.C.  Ridley,  in  1991,  his  two  sons,  D.W.  and  J.R.  Ridley,  have  charge  of  the  management  of  the  stud.  In  July  2010,  the  partnership  of  J.C.  Ridley  &  Co  ended,  with  Donald  Ridley,  trading  as  D.W.  &  E.  Ridley,  retaining  ownership.
