This  stud  was  founded  in  1896  by  W.  Armstrong  at  Mount  Pleasant,  Yass,  NSW,  by  the  purchase  of  220  ewes  from  C.C.  Hall,  Yeumburra,  Yass,  NSW,  (BELLE  VUE  and  ESK  VALE  blood,  see  Reference  Flocks),  which  were  subsequently  mated  with  a  CULLENBONE  (see  GANNAGAWAH,  F.  No.  46)  bred  ram,  owned  by  C.C.  Hall,  Yeumburra,  Yass.  NSW.  Rams  were  purchased  until  1904  from  C.C.  Hall,  Yeumburra,  Yass,  NSW.  In  1940,  the  stud  was  acquired  by  H.  Armstrong  and  in  1948  was  transferred  from  Boorowa  to  Cassilis.  In  1963,  the  company  name  was  changed  to  Pemcaw  &  Co.  On  30th  June  1992,  the  Pemcaw  stud  was  divided  equally  between  H.C.Armstrong  and  W.T.  (Lou)  Armstrong.  43  rams  and  1200  ewes  were  transferred  from  PEMCAW  to  each  of  the  partners.  W.T.  Armstrong  will  retain  the  PEMCAW  stud,  trading  as  Pemcaw  Merino  Stud  and  H.C.  Armstrong  has  registered  Cassilis  Park,  F.  No.  4578.
