This  stud  was  founded  about  1922  by  M.  Notman  by  the  selection  of  56  ewes  from  the  flock  which  were  mated  with  a  ram  purchased  from  A.  Wilkie,  Skipton  Park,  Skipton,  Vic.  The  flock  was  founded  about  1896  with  LANGI  WILLI,  F.  No.  1702,  and  CARNGHAM,  F.  No.  1281,  rams.  Rams  of  CARNGHAM  and  LANGI  WILLI  breeding  were  used  regularly  until  1937.  The  stud  was  taken  over  by  A.P.  &  W.F.  Notman  in  1929,  trading  as  A.  &  W.  Notman,  and  has  continued  to  trade  under  the  latter  name,  although  there  have  been  alterations  to  the  actual  partners.  In  1994,  the  trading  name  changed  to  Mt.  Widderin  Pastoral  Co.  Following  the  death  of  G.  Claude  Notman  in  December  1999,  the  ownership  of  the  stud  passed  to  Geoffrey  W.  Notman  and  G.  Diane  Notman,  continuing  to  trade  as  Mt  Widderin  Pastoral  Co.
The  property  was  sold  on  10.11.16.
Mt  Widderin  Stud  was  dispersed  on  10.1.17  and  ceased  to  be  a  registered  stud  from  that  date.  This  stud  was  resigned  in  April  2017.
