This  stud  was  founded  in  September,  1974,  by  C.M.  and  D.S.  Stephen  by  the  selection  of  2  rams  and  50  ewes  from  MOUNT  MORRISTON,  F.  No.  Tas.  12,  with  a  view  to  forming  a  separate  flock.  In  July  1974,  a  ram  was  purchased  from  WINTON,  Tas,  F.  No.  Tas.  1.  The  following  year,  42  ewes  were  purchased  from  WINTON,  whilst  a  further  19  ewes  were  acquired  from  the  original  MOUNT  MORRISTON  flock.  A  ram  was  also  purchased  from  SIERRA  PARK,  Vic,  F.  No.  1742.  The  ram  obtained  from  WINTON,  F.  No.  Tas.  1,  was  transferred  out  of  the  stud  to  the  owners  flock.  However,  in  1976,  the  stud  flocks  were  merged.  The  stud  was  taken  over  by  a  family  company,  trading  as  Mount  Morriston  Pty.  Ltd.  In  1996,  the  stud  was  sold  to  Fujii  Tasmania  Pty  Ltd.  In  February  2003  the  stud  was  purchased  by  Dr  VR  James  trading  as  Mount  Morriston.  Resigned  May  2010.
