This  stud  was  founded  by  G.M.  Richmond  in  1909.  All  the  sheep  acquired  with  the  property,  together  with  their  progeny,  were  sold  in  1910  and  replaced  by  cast-for-age  GINGIE  ewes,  bought  from  GINGIE,  NSW,  F.  No.  1589.  Between  1910  and  1919,  12700  of  these  ewes  (which  were  practically  HADDON  RIG,  F.  No.  48  blood)  were  purchased  and  mated  with  rams  purchased  from  HADDON  RIG,  NSW,  F.  No.  48.  In  1915,  282  ewes  were  selected  from  the  above  sheep  and  these,  together  with  rams  purchased  from  HADDON  RIG,  F.  No.  48,  formed  the  nucleus  of  the  present  stud.  In  1919,  750  ewes  were  selected  for  mating.  In  1951,  G.M.  Richmond  took  his  son,  James  Richmond,  into  partnership.  Following  the  death  of  G.M.  Richmond  in  1957,  James  Richmond  took  control  of  the  stud.  However,  it  was  still  conducted  under  the  name  of  the  partnership.  In  January  1986,  155  ewes  were  classed  up  from  the  flock.  In  1987,  165  ewes  were  classed  up  from  the  flock.  On  1/7/97,  Mogila  Merino  Stud  Pty  Ltd  purchased  the  stud  from  G.M.Richmond  and  Son.  Stud  dispersed  and  resigned  in  September  2002.
