This  stud  was  founded  in  1994  by  S.J.  Hunt,  trading  as  Marsden  Pastoral  Co,  by  the  purchase  of  2  rams  and  79  CFA  ewes  from  EGELABRA,  F.  No.  32.  The  history  of  the  flock  may  be  traced  to  that  established  by  the  Honorable  A.E.  Hunt  in  1875  and  the  subsequent  4  generations  of  his  family  which  exclusively  maintained  a  pure  Spanish  Merino  bloodline  directly  descending  from  the  foundation  flock,  established  by  the  Reverend  Samuel  Marsden  through  the  Gamboola  flock  of  the  Honorable  J.  Smith,  and  later  by  the  introduction  of  EGELABRA  rams.  No  other  blood  has  been  introduced.  Resigned  November  2009.
