This  stud  was  founded  in  January,  1978,  by  J.P.  &  H.  J.  McCormack  by  the  selection  of  50  ewes  from  LOST  RIVER  Flock.  The  latter  was  formed  in  1947  when  100  ewes  were  purchased  from  the  late  T.J.  McCormack.  In  subsequent  years,  further  ewes  were  obtained  from  the  same  source.  Prior  to  the  foundation  of  the  stud,  single  rams  had  been  purchased  from  HILLCRESTON,  F.  No.  1263,  in  1973,  GRATHLYN,  F.  No.  1885,  in  1974,  MERRYVILLE,  F.  No.  56,  in  1975  and  BULLAMALITA,  F.  No.  244,  in  1977.  The  stud  was  officially  inspected  in  May,  1978.  In  January  2001,  the  trading  name  changed  to  Lost  River  Pastoral.  Resigned  July  2009.
