History
This  stud  was  founded  by  Charles  Frederick  Walker  in  1867  when  he  stocked  the  property  with  extra  superfine  Saxon  sheep.  He  ran  an  unregistered  stud  on  Ledgerton  from  at  least  1900  until  he  retired  in  1922.  The  property  was  then  run  by  his  son,  Samuel  Money  Walker  until  1938  when  his  son,  Harold  Walker,  took  over.  At  this  time  the  head  brand  changed  to  H.W.  Ledgerton,  Yass  (which  is  the  current  brand).  Ledgerton  is  now  run  by  Harold's  sons,  Barry  and  Gavin.  During  the  known  life  of  the  stud  there  have  been  no  purchases  of  outside  ewes.  Only  a  few  sires  have  been  bought  in.  These  have  come  from  RAVENSWORTH,  F.  No.  594,  LEDGEWORTH,  F.  No.  585,  MERRYVILLE,  F.  No.  56,  and  HILLCRESTON,  F.  No.  1263.  200  ewes  were  selected  from  the  LEDGERTON  flock  and  approved  by  official  inspection  for  stud  registration.
