This  stud  was  founded  in  1945  by  T.W.  Lewis  by  the  selection  of  50  ewes  from  KOORINGA,  F.  No.  1700.  These  ewes  were  mated  with  a  'sport'  ram  from  the  same  stud.  No  other  sheep  have  been  introduced  since  1945.  Until  1955  the  above  sheep  and  their  progeny  have  been  included  in  KOORINGA,  F.  No.  1700.  In  1990,  all  the  progeny  from  the  COLLINSVILLE,  EUDORA,  GLENVALE,  LAWLOIT  and  ONE  OAK  sheep  bred  in  the  Kooringa  Poll  Stud  but  run  separately  from  the  Merryville  Poll  blood  sheep  were  sold  to  Mr.  L.  Reading  of  Pircarra,  Poll  F.  No.  1122,  Derrinallum,  Vic.  Following  the  death  of  T.  W.  Lewis  in  2001  the  stud  was  administered  by  his  estate.  In  October  2001,  the  stud  comprising  12  rams,  13  ram  lambs,  63  ewes  &  13  ewe  lambs  was  transferred  to  Guy  William  Lewis,  trading  as  Tarqua  Pastoral  Co.  Resigned  September  2008.
