This  stud  was  founded  in  February,  1949,  by  J.S.  Silcock  by  the  purchase  of  1  ram  and  24  ewes  at  the  dispersal  sale  of  F.H.  Foster,  LANGI  KAL  KAL,  Trawalla,  Vic.  A  further  67  LANGI  KAL  KAL  bred  ewes  were  purchased  from  R.  &  G.  Geddes,  Lake  Bolac,  Vic.  In  1976,  J.S.  Silcock  formed  the  Gringegalgona  Stud  Partnership  with  his  wife,  Mrs.  R.E.  Silcock,  and  sons,  T.H.  &  S.J.  Silcock.  In  1983  T.H.  Silcock  left  the  partnership.  In  1988  S.J.  Silcock's  wife,  Mrs  J.S.  Silcock  joined  the  partnership.  After  the  death  of  John  S  Silcock  in  2000,  the  Gringegalgona  Stud  Partnership  was  restructured  and  operates  under  the  management  of  his  son,  SJ  Silcock.  This  stud  was  resigned  in  January  2015.  The  stud  was  reinstated  in  April  2020  and  in  July  2020  S.J.  Silcock's  son  C.S.  Silcock  joined  the  Gringegalgona  Stud  Partnership  which  operates  under  the  ownership  of  C.S  Silcock  &  Stephen  John  Silcock  Trust.
