This  stud  was  founded  in  November,  1986,  by  W.,  C.  &  W.  Fergusson,  trading  as  Grindstone  Bay  Pastoral  Co,  by  the  purchase  of  1  ram  and  50  ewes  from  AVOCA  FOREST,  F.  No.  1750.  Resigned  April  2011.
