History
This  stud  was  founded  in  1935  by  the  selection  of  100  ewes  from  the  GRATHLYN  flock  which  were  mated  with  rams  purchased  from  BOCOBLE,  NSW,  F.  No.  1336.  The  GRATHLYN  flock  was  founded  about  1903  by  H.A.  Rayner  by  the  purchase  of  ewes  from  WALLINGA,  NSW,  (see  F.  No.  602).  Until  1925,  rams  of  WALLINGA  blood  were  used,  after  which  and  until  1944,  rams  were  purchased  from  BOCOBLE,  F.  No.  1336.  Following  the  death  of  H.A.  Rayner  in  1949,  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  his  two  sons,  S.M.  and  R.H.  Rayner.  On  the  30th  June  1956,  the  partnership  of  S.M.  and  R.H.  Rayner  was  dissolved,  the  stud  being  taken  over  by  S.M.  Rayner.  In  March,  2015  ownership  changed  to  AM  &  OM  Rayner,  trading  as  'Grathlyn'  Pastoral  Co.
