This  stud  was  founded  in  1979  by  J.D.  Aitken  by  the  purchase  of  25  ewes  from  BANAVIE  PARK,  F.  No.  2722.  Rams  purchased  from  BANAVIE  PARK,  F.  No.  2722,  have  been  used  exclusively.  A  selection  of  ewes  from  the  GOWANDALE  flock  were  also  included.  In  1986,  200  flock  ewes  were  transferred  to  the  stud.  In  March  1998,  the  stud  was  sold  to  Glendon  Hancock  &  Chris  Guthrie  trading  as  Gowandale  Stud  Pty.  Ltd.  and  transferred  from  Marnoo  to  St.  Arnaud.  In  July  2000,  Chris  Guthrie  withdrew  from  the  partnership,  which  continued  trading  as  Gowandale  Stud  Pty.  Ltd.  with  the  partners  being  Glendon  &  Debbie  Hancock.  In  2006,  the  ownership  was  changed  to  James  Cameron  trading  as  Ardroy  Securities  P/L.  In  July  2007,  with  the  approval  of  the  VSMSBA,  the  stud  consisting  of  2  rams  and  750  ewes,  was  purchased  by  R.  &  D.  Polkinghorne,  owners  of  the  Banavie  Park  and  Charinga  studs,  and  will  continue  to  be  run  as  a  separate  stud  entity.  In  February  2012  the  ownership  of  the  stud  changed  to  Roger  Polkinghorne,  trading  as  Charinga.  This  stud  was  resigned  in  July  2022.
