This  stud  was  founded  in  1926  by  J.  Ferguson  by  the  purchase  of  200  ewes  from  BUNDEMAR  (GENERAL),  NSW,  F.  No.  12,  and  3  rams  from  BUNDEMAR,  F.  No.  11.  In  1967,  the  partnership  of  J.  Ferguson  and  Sons  was  dissolved  and  the  stud  divided.  W.J.  Ferguson,  together  with  his  wife,  Mrs  D.A.  Ferguson,  carried  on  the  stud  with  their  portion  of  the  sheep,  trading  as  Fairfield  Grange  Stud.  In  1974,  the  W.J.  Ferguson  Family  Settlement  Trust  was  formed,  with  W.J.  and  D.A.  Ferguson  as  trustees.  Later,  A.J.  Ferguson  was  made  a  trustee,  still  trading  as  Fairfield  Grange  Stud.  On  30th  June  1995,  the  above  partnership  was  dissolved  and  the  stud  was  transferred  to  A.J.  Ferguson  who,  together  with  his  wife,  G.A.  Ferguson,  began  trading  as  Fairfield  Grange  Merino  Stud.  In  January  1998,  the  stud  was  moved  to  the  property  Bell  River  at  Wellington  and  continued  to  trade  as  Fairfield  Grange  Merino  Stud.  Resigned  May  2008.
