This  stud  was  founded  in  September,  1979,  by  K.J.  and  L.H.  Bredhauer  by  the  selection  of  15  rams  and  500  ewes  from  the  CARANNA  flock.  This  was  founded  about  1936  by  R.G.  Bredhauer  with  ewes  from  MINNIE  DOWNS,  F.  No.  606,  and  TOOLMAREE,  F.  No.  1374.  Later  the  number  of  ewes  selected  was  reduced  to  215,  with  103  ram  lambs  and  133  ewe  lambs.  The  sheep  were  officially  inspected  on  23rd  September,  1979.  40  stud  ewes  were  purchased  from  HADDON  RIG  in  1974.  A  RABY  ram  purchased  at  the  1974  Dubbo  ram  sales  was  joined  to  these  ewes,  and  the  progeny  of  the  ewes  formed  the  basis  of  ewes  inspected  in  September  1979  when  the  stud  was  registered.  The  balance  of  the  ewes  inspected  were  by  BURENDA  stud  rams  (2)  from  ewes  of  TOOLMAREE  and  MINNIE  DOWNS  blood  purchased  when  the  stud  was  founded  by  R.G.  Bredhauer  in  1936.  In  February  1987,  the  partnership  of  K.J.  &  L.H.  Bredhauer  was  dissolved  and  the  stud  and  stud  sheep  were  transferred  to  K.J.  Bredhauer.  In  1988,  all  stud  sheep  have  been  transferred  to  property  at  Black  Mountain  but  stud  name  CARANNA  retained.  Resigned  November  2004.
