History
This  stud  was  founded  in  1926  by  R.E.  McDonnell  by  the  purchase  of  63  Tasmanian  blood  ewes  from  M.  Bolan  who  had  obtained  same  at  the  KURTUK  dispersal  sale,  and  rams  from  MERRYVILLE,  NSW,  F.  No.  56.  The  KURTUK  stud  was  founded  by  G.  Broughton  at  Kout  Norein,  Harrow,  Vic,  about  1850.  On  the  death  of  R.E.  McDonnell,  ownership  passed  to  J.K.  and  E.F.  Carracher  in  1993.  Resigned  November  2002.
