This  stud  was  founded  in  1861  by  Peppin  and  Sons  of  Wanganella  and  Boonoke.  In  November  1878,  the  Boonoke  Station  (then  known  as  North  Boonoke)  was  sold  with  half  the  general  stud  to  F.S.  Falkiner  and  Co.  (Falkiner,  Ross  and  McKenzie).  The  sale  at  the  time  was  announced  in  the  following  terms:  Richard  Gibson  and  Co.  report  having  sold,  by  private  contract,  on  account  of  Peppin  and  Sons,  their  North  Boonoke  Station,  in  the  Murrumbidgee  district  of  NSW,  together  with  25,788  sheep,  290  cattle,  and  31,484  acres  of  freehold  land,  to  F.S.  Falkiner  and  Co,  November,  1878.  Early  in  1882,  this  partnership  was  dissolved  and  F.S.  Falkiner  purchased  the  whole  property  at  auction,  and  from  that  time  onward  it  has  remained  in  the  possession  of  members  of  his  family.  In  1899,  the  business  was  formed  into  a  limited  liability  company  under  the  name  of  F.S.  Falkiner  and  Sons  Pty.  Ltd.  In  June  2000,  F.S.  Falkiner  &  Sons  Pty.  Ltd.  was  sold  by  News  Limited  to  C.A.  &  L.  Bell  Commodities  Corporation  (Australian  Food  &  Agriculture  Co  Ltd),  continuing  to  trade  as  F.S.  Falkiner  &  Sons  Pty.  Ltd.  In  2008,  the  majority  of  BOONOKE,  F.  No.  7  was  transferred  to  WANGANELLA,  F.  No.  83,  however  the  stud  continues  to  run  with  a  reduced  number  of  sheep.  In  January  2015,  FS  Falkiner  &  Sons  Pty  Ltd  revised  its  trading  name  to  that  of  its  parent  company  the  Australian  Food  &  Agriculture  Co  Ltd.
