This  stud  was  founded  about  1893  by  William  Cox  and  his  son,  William,  by  the  purchase  of  200  ewes  from  G.H.  Cox,  Burrundulla,  Mudgee,  NSW.  A  further  40  ewes  were  obtained  at  the  dispersal  sale  of  WALLINGA,  Mudgee,  NSW,  (See  F.  No.  602).  From  1893  to  1916,  rams  were  obtained  from  WALLINGA,  Mudgee  and  GUNNA  GAWAH.  About  1909,  Charles  and  Leslie  Cox,  sons  of  William  Cox  Snr,  took  over  the  stud  trading  under  the  name  of  Cox  Bros.  It  has  since  remained  under  the  management  of  Charles  Cox  whose  two  sons,  R.  and  G.  Cox,  were  taken  into  partnership  in  1950.  On  the  deaths  of  Charles  and  Leslie  Cox  in  1966,  the  stud  has  been  carried  on  by  R.C.  Cox  and  G.  H.  Cox  who  took  R.B.  and  G.R.  Cox,  sons  of  R.C.  Cox,  into  partnership,  continuing  to  trade  as  Cox  Bros.  In  1975,  the  stud  was  moved  from  Bocoble,  Mudgee  to  Moolarbin,  Cooks  Gap,  Mudgee,  and  has  been  carried  on  by  R.C.  and  R.B.  Cox  trading  as  Cox  Bros.
