This  stud  was  founded  in  April,  1961,  by  the  partnership  of  M.L.  Taylor  and  his  wife,  Mrs  J.  Taylor,  trading  as  the  Birrahlee  Grazing  Co,  by  a  selection  of  55  ewes  from  the  TERRIBLE  VALE  flock.  These  ewes  were  mated  with  a  ram  which  was  purchased  in  December,  1959  from  MIRANI,  NSW,  F.  No.  732.  A  further  ram  was  purchased  from  MIRANI  in  December,  1961.  The  TERRIBLE  VALE  flock  was  commenced  about  1840  with  Tasmanian  sheep.  Tasmanian  rams  were  used  nearly  100  years  after  which  MERRYVILLE  blood  rams  were  obtained.  For  a  number  of  years  prior  to  the  foundation  of  the  stud,  rams  used  were  from  MIRANI,  F.  No.  732.  The  property  and  flock  have  been  in  the  possession  of  the  Taylor  family  since  the  flock  was  formed  and  no  outside  ewes  have  been  introduced.  Resigned  June  2004.
