This  stud  was  founded  in  1916  by  the  late  W.  Martin  by  the  purchase  of  100  ewes  from  A.H.  Wright,  Tombong,  Delegate,  NSW.  These  ewes  were  mated  with  rams  leased  from  Tombong.  A  further  purchase  of  ewes  was  made  from  the  latter  stud  in  1920,  and  until  1943  only  sheep  of  Tombong  breeding  were  used.  C.R.  Martin  obtained  the  stud  from  his  father,  W.  Martin  in  1936.  In  1960,  the  stud  was  taken  over  by  a  company  trading  as  Bertery  Bank  Pastoral  Company.  On  30th  April  1993,  the  stud  and  stud  sheep  were  sold  to  Paul  John  Ryan  and  Margaret  Wendy  Ryan.  On  31st  October  1996,  ownership  of  the  stud  was  transferred  to  Tombong  Estate  Pty  Limited,  Delegate.  In  January  2006  the  name  of  the  stud  was  changed  from  BERTERY  BANK  to  TOMBONG.  This  stud  was  resigned  as  at  December  2015.
