History
This  stud  was  founded  in  April,  1990  by  J.N.  &  R.  King  by  the  purchase  of  3  rams  from  KELTON  PLAIN,  F.  No.  4463.  The  flock  of  190  ewes  has  been  bred  almost  exclusively  on  Kelton  Plain  blood  for  30  years  and  no  ewes  have  been  purchased  elsewhere.  A  further  3  rams  from  YARRAWONGA,  F.  No.  3534,  have  been  added  since  October  1990  and  in  April  1992,  24  ewes  were  inseminated  from  JILLIBY,  F.  No.  4009.  The  flock  was  approved  by  official  inspection  in  December  1992.  In  1995,  son  Simon  King  was  taken  into  the  partnership  which  now  trades  as  J.  R.  &  S.  King.  In  July  2005,  Kristina  King  was  taken  the  partnership,  which  now  consists  of  John  &  Rosemary  King  and  Simon  &  Kristina  King  and  the  trading  name  was  changed  to  the  King  Family  Partnership.  In  January  2010,  John  &  Rosemary  King  retired  from  the  partnership  &  the  stud  is  now  run  by  Simon  &  Kristina  King,  with  the  trading  name  remaining  as  the  King  Family  Partnership.  At  the  same  time  the  stud  moved  from  Berridale  to  Cooma.
