This  stud  was  founded  in  1946  when  the  partnership  of  D.N.,  N.N.,  A.C.  and  J.N.  Fletcher  was  dissolved,  D.N.  Fletcher  obtaining  32  rams  and  114  ewes  from  the  CAIRNIE  flock.  On  the  death  of  A.D.  Fletcher  and  the  retirement  of  J.N.  Fletcher,  D.N.  Fletcher  carried  on  the  stud  in  partnership  with  his  brothers,  A.C.,  N.N.  and  J.N.  Fletcher,  until  the  dissolution  in  1946.  The  stud  was  transferred  to  Greg  D.  Fletcher  in  1990.  In  March  2002,  G.D.  Fletcher  transferred  2  rams,  205  ewes  and  56  ewe  lambs  to  D.I.  Fletcher  who  will  continue  the  stud.  In  2010,  the  stud  ownership  changed  from  D.I.  Fletcher  to  W.D.D.  Fletcher  &  D.I.  Fletcher,  trading  as  Auchen  Dhu  Pastoral  Co.  Resigned  June  2015.
